USA,Southern California- Pacific Palisades-Canary Island Palm is a type of Date Palm. This type of palms has been part of the Southern California landscape for years. Recently the Date Palm has developed diseases and aggressive bugs has resulted in the species diminishing in the past ten years. The beauty of the Date Palm should encourage preservation. Documentation through photography for the future awareness is necessary to remember this shrinking majestic species. I shot with an open shutter to capture the effects of the wind passing through the tree 's fronds displaying motion blur but grounding the photo by taking a sharp trunk. I loved the light as it hit the yellow nuts of the Date Palm.
