Behind The Lens

Location

To give credit where it is due-this was my wife's doing. She insisted that we go to the park under the Whitestone Bridge in Whitestone, Queens, NY to see if we could find anything of interest (she is also a photographer) to photograph. She (more than I) is constantly seeking places, scenes, venues for us to find the setting, inspiration and locales, we require to take some of our shots.

Time

It was taken on July 7th, 2019 @ about 6:45PM from sunsetting forward..

Lighting

Natural lighting, no fill flash, nor any other kind of flash. I try not to use flash-unless imperative.

Equipment

Shot with my Canon EOS Rebel T6, f/13 @ 1/200 sec, iso 100, with a Tamron 18-400 lens, no flash, hand held..

Inspiration

As I stated above, the location was my wifes inspiration, and we went at her urging, to see the sunset from this vantage.. We walked around did some shoots, and I came across this scene, as the sun set, with the great reflections and the people walking along the water.

Editing

Minor brightness and saturation settings, and a little cropping. Try not to have to do too much post processing...

In my camera bag

Had the camera (Canon Rebel EOS T6, with Tamron 18-400 lens), also a Canon 18-55mm lens. And the usual backup equipment- extra camera card, battery, lens cleaning kit..

Feedback

I find after getting someplace-scout it out look for what you think would be good positions for photos, and look for the lighting, probably the most important ingredient in any photo involving the sun...
