Location
In My Home Product studioTime
The time of day was inconsequential as I had full control of the environment, This shot was taken on the 22nd June 2010Lighting
To enhance the photo, I had set up a tinted piece of Perspex under a clear sheet of the same. This gave the base and the foreground depth with a non-reflective black card background . I hung 3 silver reflectors on 3 sides (Top, left and right sides)Equipment
I used a Canon 5D Mk2 Camera with a EF50mm F1.2L USM L 50mm f2 ISO on Camera set at1250 shutter speed 60 and aperture f8. This was mounted on a WF tripod with a Manfroto 3 way camera headInspiration
I was in the process of upgrading equipment and wanted to sell for the best price possible on an internet trading site .Editing
I used the Canon Software DPP to convert from Raw to Tiff then adjusted the contrast and lighting in Adobe CS3In my camera bag
During this time I would carry my Canon EOS 5D Mk2, Canon EOS 40D, Minolta Light meter, Canon 50mm F1.2 L series lens 24 - 70mm f2.8 L series Zoom, Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD Lens. Canon 580 speed light flash, Variable Neutral density filters and Circular polariser for each lens Spare batteries for cameras Spare Compact flash cards, 2 small Circular Reflectors and CellphoneFeedback
It does not take much to set up a studio, It can be permanent and portable. large or small. You need only to have a back drop with stands to hold it. Reflectors these can easily be made from thick card available from most Art stores and some stationers Lights can be either bought from various stores or hired Even the flash on your camera can suffice in certain applications. You are only limited by your imagination.
