This photo was taken in a foggy day near the douro riverTime
It was 11 am. We went for a morning street photo shoot. But the fog was to intense because we were along the banks of the Douro River ... At about 11 am the fog started to lift and there was already some light, and it was then that I decided to go to this place by the river , close to the sea , where there are these wooden walkways. As we had to take some pictures of bikinis, we slowly started the session waiting for more light. While we waited I had this idea. A photograph that emphasized the idea of freedom and fun.Lighting
Well, the light was very soft because despite the sun already found a way to get through the fog, it was still enough high fog to work as an indirect light box, which helped to lower the contrasts and raise the gray scale.Equipment
I was shooting with my Nikon D850 using an old 80-200mm Nikon lens. No tripod was usedInspiration
It was an inspiration of the moment. The model was very participative, so it was easy to put this idea into practice. The location was inspiring too. Perfect lines to the horizon, a hint of beach usually associated with holidays and joyEditing
Yes . I confess. The photograph was taken in color and changed to black and white. We already know that this helps to raise the grays even more, so I had to pull the contrast a little, but a tiny bit, just to tone the textures of the wooden carpet and the poles a little more.In my camera bag
I already confessed this once. Since I joined the iPhone my capture has changed a lot. I n the past I always carried my camera in my car trunk, but nowadays it is dangerous. And the 12 MP of the iPhone camera, combined with a manual app, and an image processing app, are more than enough for everyday life, and for posts on social networks. I only take the Nikon camera when I have a specific job scheduled. The equipment for schedules varies depending on the work I am going to do. If it is fashion, or photography of an apartment for rent, you have to plan and take what is necessary so that the work result is the best possible. in this case I did not take a tripod, but I rarely photograph indoors without a monopod or tripod.Feedback
677/5000 In my opinion, there is no magic potion for a photography. There is will, pleasure, observation and coordination for what surrounds us, and with whom we are working. Each person is different from the other, and maybe, with another model, I could not achieve this result, because the attitude of the model might not give me what I have in mind and want. As it was not the first time that we photographed together, and there was already a knowledge and friendship between me and the model, I knew that if I asked her for this "choreography", she would perform it perfectly, because it's part of her spirit, this joy and freedom of expression. The rest is to apply simple rules of photography, and value the scenery that we have around.
