Location
This was taken at a wedding, where the ceremony and reception were both held at the same facility.Time
This was taken indoors at dusk, though there were few windows and it was thunderstorming at the time - which is to say, this was all interior lit.Lighting
Lighting was awful, and I had to extensively dodge the bride's face in post-processing.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 5D IV and a Sigma 70 ~ 200mm zoom with no flash.Inspiration
The moment happened, and to not capture it would have been a crime!Editing
As noted above, light quality was awful. I did rather a lot of dodging and burning to get exposures where I wanted them. Otherwise, though this was a pretty straightforward edit.In my camera bag
My Canon 5D IV and my 40mm pancake lens are my go-to kit. If I'm working rather than shooting for pleasure, my Sigma 85mm portrait and 70 ~ 200mm lenses come along for the ride. If I'm outdoors shooting on-location (e.g., for senior photos), I'll also bring my wife, a skrim, and a reflector. I rarely work with flash unless I'm in the studio.Feedback
Also have a camera with you; moments like these are fleeting!
