I haven’t been to a carnival in years. So why did I find myself at one at the Pushkar Camel Fair in the state of Rajasthan, India? And why does a camel fair have a carnival? In fact, it had a little carnival with several rides, 3 ferris wheels for some reason.
The carnival only adds to the pure sensory overload. Noise, color, movement, camels, horses, people, markets, shapes, smells. This carnival even has a bright pink carpet. That’s because underneath the carnival and the entire camel fair is dunes. Dune after dune. Sand, lots of sand.
