“The photo was taken along the banks of the Tweed River in a Caravan park. I am a self-taught when it comes to Photography and really enjoy the Macro side” I am trying to improve as I go and growing with patience the more I take macro shots.Time
“This is probably one of my favourite images from 2019. I remember thinking about going for a walk along the river, over the past few days some Frangipani flowers had opened. Decided to take the camera and had no tripod. There was a wind blowing up the river, which made it very hard to take a shot hand held. I had to hold the flowers and take the shot; this was the most successful. Taken December 8 2019 at 9:44amLighting
The Frangipani tree was beside a BBQ cover, and under larger trees, the area was well shaded facing west with the dappled sun through the leaves.Equipment
” Photo was shot on a Olympus OMD E-M5 Mark 11, with an 60 mm lens, 1/1250 sec. F/2.80 with a led macro Ring lite.Inspiration
Previous walks along the river, the scent of the frangipani and the condition of the flowers, prompted me for a return in the next few days, as the young trees had quite a few new buds.Editing
I liked the final shot so much i only touched it up with a little denoise and sharpening. In my camera bag
I have a small back pack which consists of M.Zuiko 12-42mm pro, 45mm portrait lens, 60mm Macro, and 75-300mm. Tripod, filter, Cable release, A Flash that is rarely used. I have a smaller bag which I use just for local shots and usually take 1 spare lens depending on where I am going.Feedback
Be prepared for anything, all types of Weather. The diversity of colours and situations. Plan ahead for each trip, as it’s amazing how the weather and light can change your ideas on the move. Don’t be afraid to move around using sneaker focus as it could mean the difference between a good shot and a great shot. Above all enjoy the experience.
