We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Norway, and were privileged to be taken out to witness an amazing night's display of the Northern Lights.
We were taken to a location about 2 hours South of the town of Tromsø - up in the Arctic circle. It was COLD - frozen fingers make it very difficult to change settings on the camera!
The evening threatened to be a bit underwhelming at first, but it soon lit up with the Aurora Borealis, and just as you thought they were dimming, they would start up again. Even the guide was blown away by the display :)
A cliche of course, but this was definitely a bucket list item for me.
(I have many more photos from the evening to process - this is the first of (probably) many...
