I took this photo at the Grand Canyon.Time
It was early afternoon when I took this photo. We had just finished our box lunches and had a few minutes before moving on. The view was so amazing I had to try to capture it.Lighting
We were outside on a sunny day, so I used only natural light when taking this photo.Equipment
This photo was shot on my Nikon D3200, using my Nikkor 18-140mm VR lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
Going to the Grand Canyon was something I've always wanted to do. I got the opportunity in the fall of 2019. My first view of the canyon left me speechless - there are no words to describe it. I took this photo after lunch and liked it immediately. I felt it captured the essence of the view.Editing
I used Adobe Photoshop Elements to straighten the horizon. I find that the older I get the more likely, I will have to straighten my photos. In my camera bag
In my bag, I carry the following: 3 Nikkor lenses - 18-55mm, 55-300mm, and 35mm // my copy of David Busch's Nikon D3200 Guide to Digital SLR Photography // Mini tripod // lens cloth // spare batteries // spare SD cards // wet wipes // filters // rain poncho // notebook and a pencil // water bottle // monopod // remote release //Swiss Army multi tool knifeFeedback
Please, if you haven't seen the Grand Canyon, you need to go! But check the weather first. As it was late October, I didn't expect it to be as cold as it was. Pack a warm jacket, gloves, and a scarf at the very least! The views are quite overwhelming, so take a deep breath and relax before taking your shot.
