Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the Fairy Pools (Glen Brittle - Isle of Skye - Scotland).

Time

After a drive from Fort William and taking the boat from Mallaig to Armadale, we arrived at the impressive Fairy Pools. This photo was taken on August 5 at 16:04 pm

Lighting

The light is a bit complicated because there were areas covered by clouds and others where the sun dazzled. As it is a panoramic consisting of 8 vertical photos, find a suitable balance in the exposure.

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon 6D, with an 16-35mm f / 4 L IS USM. I also used the Cullmann Neomax 240 travel tripod

Inspiration

When you arrive at the fairy pools, for a moment you move to another era, away from the noise and movement of the city. It is nature in its purest form. You breathe and feel nature and that is what I wanted to reflect in this shot.

Editing

The photos are taken in raw format and developed with Camera Raw. Later I used Photoshop to form the panorama and made a level adjustment.

In my camera bag

Normally, when I travel, in addition to the Canon EF 16-35mm f / 4 L IS USM, I carried the Canon 24-105 mm 4 L in my bag. I also usually carry Lee filters (ND Grads, Big Stopper).

Feedback

I think it is very important to shoot with a tripod in this type of photos because a shaky photo can ruin your panorama.
