People asked me how I get birds in flight with a large telephoto lens. First I learned from masters how to "pan" but that's not all. One has to be prepared and be alert while waiting (In Mark 13, Ephesian"s 6, and 1 Peter 1). I watched the master at work, they keep their minds sharp for a "long time" while they wait. They watch the habits of the birds. They anticipate when and where the birds may come and land. They pay attention what the birds are looking for, especially food. They think about the directions of the light sources. They look and move so that the background that the bird may land would be good. There is a lot going on when they seem to be idle and wait. Likewise, I learned about many situations we are in in life. God gives us all kinds of circumstances, often seem difficult, that require us to wait patiently. We pray and wait upon the Lord. We learn not to get ahead of God and try our own ways. However, this does not mean we just be like idiots sitting there doing nothing... I learned that I must pray, be alert, listen to God's voice (from His words), and keep our eyes focused...
