This photo was taken in my home studio in Rhode IslandTime
I met with the model -my friend JoLee just before noon. I always do headshots first just to get 'warmed up'. We then moved on to boudoir in the early afternoon and shot for an hour or soLighting
I use Profoto lighting and am especially high on their B10 line. The lights are small yet powerful (250 ws). What I especially like is how they can pack in your camera bag - about the same size as a 24-70 2.8 lens. Makes it very easy to use outside or inside. This photo was lit with a 1x4 strip box for a key light. There was also a 1x4 gridded strip for fillEquipment
My favorite camera for boudoir is my Nikon D850 It pairs beautifully with the Sigma 50 F1.4 Art lens which is what was used on this photoInspiration
I love shooting boudoir and JoLee is the perfect model. She's beautiful and very relaxed in front of the camera. Looking forward to shooting with her again !!Editing
My primary editing is done in Lightroom. This photo was then brought into Photoshop for a little skin work. I use Portraiture as a plugin. I also used Infinite Color anel for a little color toningIn my camera bag
I'm a Nikon fanboy. My cameras include the D850 for studio work and both the D5 and D500 for my sports photography. I love the F1.4 lenses for shallow depth of field which is perfect for boudoir. The 50 is my most frequently used boudoir lens just because my space is pretty small.Feedback
Find a great model. If you're working with someone new, it can be very challenging as they're usually very nervous
