Behind The Lens

Location

On a fall day there was fog covering a field as the sunrise gave light to a tree at the end of a lane in the midst of it’s own color change.

Time

I was driving down the road with the sunrise in my rear view mirror when I just had to stop because it was just such a beautiful morning.

Lighting

As the sun was rising it was just starting to shine on the trees while burning off the fog and creating a soft look.

Equipment

I used my iPhone to take this picture.

Inspiration

I usually sleep through sunrise as I’m a night owl but this day I was up early and on the road heading towards a festival. The sunrise was in my rear view mirror and it was just so beautiful that I had to stop to take a picture and I was lucky enough to find a perfect spot.

Editing

I didn’t do any post-processing.

In my camera bag

I only carry my iPhone.

Feedback

Be open to all aspects around you. Maybe you are only planning to take a picture of the sunrise but don’t forget to look around and really see how that sunrise is affecting everything around you. What’s so special about a tree at the end of a lane? Nothing until you add in sunlight, fog, fall colors and then frame the shot accordingly.
