Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken at the trail head at Mount Benson in Nanaimo, BC, Canada.

Time

Walking toward the trail head in the early afternoon, I noticed how beautiful it was and yet how spooky the contrast was between the bright day leading into the dense forest.

Lighting

The lighting is just the beauty of nature. Full sun, no clouds - simply the beauty of nature.

Equipment

I just used the phone in my hand. No flash. iPhone 8 Plus - nothing fancy. The settings were automatic. It is reported as: f/1.8, ISO 40, shutter speed 1/15

Inspiration

It reminded me of something from a fairy tale.

Editing

I used a b&w filter, increased the contrast slightly, and then reduced the exposure to darken the depth of the forest - the unknown ahead.

In my camera bag

I wish I could afford a proper camera. I just have the phone in my pocket. But it sure would be fun to have a dream kit to carry about.

Feedback

Imagination maybe? Think of it from a child's eyes and perhaps more than the eyes, a child's heart.
