One of my favorite things when leading trips in the Huayhuash is to take off to a new spot each time with my friend and fellow local guide Lucio. Many nights after a long day on the trail we still feel charged and ready to go. Just the two of us set off up a steep climb that we survey from below hoping to catch in beautififul light and skies at sunset. You can't go wrong. We are always met with a wonderful show. What makes it all the more special is being able to share it with Lucio. A man equally passionate for the mountains. He ooh's and awwes' as the light dancing across the peaks. We are like two giddy little boys watching...but more so feeling and connecting with the natural world around us. Thanks Lucio for always saying yes to more type 2 fun! Evening glow over Sarapo, Siula, Jirishanca and Yerupaja. This is near the famous base camp from the book and movie Touching The Void.
