Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from a foot-bridge at Chennai, India near my Workplace.

Time

This picture was taken at the night time when the traffic was moderate and the cars kept flowing.

Lighting

It was an extremely dark and the car headlights and taillights were too bright for long exposure. Try to keep the ISO as low as possible and play around with shutter speed.

Equipment

I used a tripod with Nikon D5600 for this photograph.

Inspiration

I pass that foot bridge every day and I stand for few minutes to appreciate the chaos. One day after I bought my DSLR, I thought to capture it and share it with everyone.

Editing

The post processing was very light and I have only tweaked with saturation, highlights and shadows for this image. It was very tough to bring the right natural colour to the photo. I am not a fan of pop colours where the saturation is very high. I love to keep it real as much as possible.

In my camera bag

I carry a Nikon D5600, with 18-5mm Kit lens, 70-300mm AF-P lens, a manual 50mm prime lens, and finally a macro extension tube.

Feedback

Be ready to take multiple shots of the same thing as every time you will get a different pattern for headlights and taillights. I prefer to keep the ISO as low as possible to reduce the noise as I use a entry level DSLR the performance for higher ISO is not great at all.
