Behind The Lens

Location

Shot was taken in a lovely big house in Manchester, England

Time

Late summer afternoon, we took advantage of the beautiful light

Lighting

This was uncomfortably high ISO (for me) but ultimately worked out fine, I'm often nervous to go above 600 but for this shot I went to 1600 because I had no tripod handy

Equipment

Nikon D850, SIGMA 50mm ART

Inspiration

I adore ballet and dance inspired shots, we shot a whole series in this window, both clothed and artnude. I loved the way the light was on the models skin, highlighting her amazing physique. I feel it is both powerful and vulnerable which tells the beautiful story of womanhood in an empowering way

Editing

Lightroom and Photoshop adjustments, including frequency separation and mild dodging and burning

In my camera bag

a range of primes from 20mm up to 300mm depending on the occasion

Feedback

Trust your camera. Also in a shot like this very precise focus is even more vital as you will lose sharpness very quickly away from the plane of focus due to noise
