Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo during a live concert. I had asked the artist beforehand if I could take pictures and luckily she agreed.

Time

The concert was on a Saturday evening

Lighting

All I can say about the light is that the only requirement was not to flash. The light in the picture is the stage lighting.

Inspiration

I love jazz and Annemarie Höller is an excellent singer in the genre. In addition, I have always enjoyed photographing concerts. That's why I now have a large pool of pictures in this area.

Editing

Fortunately, the stage technicians made a very neutral warm light. So I only had to adjust the gradations and the skin tones.

In my camera bag

In my bag there are usually two bodysuits and three lenses. 16-15mm 24-70mm 70-200mm Plus a flash. But of course I adapt the equipment to my project. It can also be that I only pack fast fixed focal lengths. All my lenses are from Canon's L series.

Feedback

If you want to take photos at concerts, be sure to ask the organisers and artists. It is also helpful if you already have a portfolio that you can show. As a beginner without a relevant portfolio, it often helps if you show your best pictures and explain that you would like to develop further in the area of concerts.
