50 Years

Celebrating 50 years since we set foot on the moon. I wonder how the surface of the moon would have looked during a lunar eclipse? For a few brief moments would it have looked more like we were on Mars than our own moon? I was almost 4 when we landed on the moon on July 20, 1969. I wish I could say I remember it, but unfortunately, I cannot. I remember bits and pieces from that age, but alas, not this historical event. My parents must have talked about it a lot with me though as I became obsessed in childhood with all things space. It was the dream of what waits for us out there to discover. Now I'm hoping to be alive when we take the next step onto another planet. With any luck, I'll be around to see us take the next giant leap onto Mars.
