Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture sitting on my deck in the back yard. Usually I am waiting for a bird or an insect but nothing was flying my way. Started looking around and noticed the dandelions. My curiosity took me to wanting to see the underside and here it is.

Time

I am usually on the deck in the morning before the sun gets too high. We live in a valley which we affectionately call the "fish bowl" so I have an extra hour of soft light.

Lighting

Early morning, golden hour equals soft and lovely light.

Equipment

I used a Canon 80D and a Canon "nifty fifty" lens with only natural light.

Inspiration

Nature is usually my inspiration and that morning my curiosity had me wanting to see things from a different angle. Definitely got a new perspective.

Editing

I did post-processing in Lightroom. Adjusting the clarity, softening the background, and toning down the saturation just a bit. Nothing elaborate just keeping it simple.

In my camera bag

I usually carry a telephoto, a macro, and a wide angel lens, extra batteries, an extra SD card, a rain cover, and a lens cleaner. I also have a few polarizing lens filters.

Feedback

I would say don't be afraid to follow your curiosity, try something new, or follow your intuition. Turn that creativity loose...break a rule.
