Location
This photo was actually taken before the shoot! It was the first time I was using a canon flash and asked my muse, Carter, if I could take a picture of her in the hallway to test it out before we went rollerskating. Surprisingly this ended up being my favorite shot, the way she dazes into space comments on how maybe the most colorful of people might not be a bubbly and full of light on the inside.Time
It was right after work, I remember getting off of my 9 to 5 marketing job driving home, grabbing skates, models, and speeding to location to get there so we had enough time to get the shots we needed.Lighting
That Canon Flash worked like a charm here, which I was surprised since I always made the assumption that it should be used during dark shoots, but I learned I was absolutely wrong.Equipment
I used a Canon 5D mark 4, a Canon Standard Zoom Lens 24-70mm f/2.8, and a canon flash!Inspiration
Honestly, just spur of the moment, which I think makes this picture unique. Not planned, not thought out, just the natural emotion my muse was having at the time.Editing
Post-Processing is MY favorite part! With this photo I made it more warm tones to tone down the color of her hair. I wanted to keep her eyes her natural blue tone, so there could be an intense contrast between the two. As a result, the first thing you see is the emotion in her eyes since they pop out.In my camera bag
Honestly, a thousand batteries, chargers, you name it I have it. I seriously am the Mary Poppins of camera equipment! I try to fit as much just in case for the perfect shot I'll need a lower aperture or a larger zoom.Feedback
Honestly, a white wall, a canon, and lightroom will do. This photograph isn't too complicated which in my mind makes it beautiful.
