This very tiny (Pencil lead sized) Salticidae (Jumping Spider), was one of the first of many slings I released into my yard after breeding my pet female Phidippus Johnsoni spider. I found Pac (my pet) when she was just this size and have had her 10 months now. It has been amazing to watch the cycle of life happen as she found a mate and then laid the eggs that would become hundreds of slings like this little one pictured. I call them "Pac-sonies", named for her. In this photo, this little one is casting out a multi stranded line of webbing that it will then turn around and grab with its legs and weave into a mode of transport in the wind. Really incredible to watch something so tiny. I am consistently in awe of nature.
