The New York City Subway is a rapid transit system owned by the City of New York. It opened in 1904, making it one of the world's oldest public transit systems, one of the world's most used metro systems, and the metro system with the most stations. It’s in service 24 hours-day, every day. It’s also one of the world's longest subway systems. It has 665 miles of revenue track and 850 miles including non-revenue tracks.
Furthermore, the New York City Subway is the busiest rapid transit rail system in the Western Hemisphere and the Western world, and the eighth busiest rapid transit rail system in the world. For instance, in 2017, there were over 1.72 billion rides, with an average of about 5.6 million daily rides.

I can't imagine being on the New York Subway !!! Mind you I've never been to New York City - but looks like to saw a bit of it all ! Great shot !

I was surprised at how clean it was. But this was in Manhattan near Times Square. Probably some of the grodier parts of the city had a whole different story on the subway...
