This is a cool otherly world part of California. The White Mountains where you find fields of bristle cones. These guys are up at 11,000- 12,000 ft high. And as you can see it is pretty barren. But yet these trees survive and live for thousands of years. The tree in the center of this shot is a massive bristle cone that at some points the branches extend 25 ft. across.This is a multiple stitch shot taken while hanging down the middle of a large bristlecone and shooting through the opening in it's front. The object is this massive bristlecone that was in front of it blocking the sun.
