Behind The Lens

Location

Palm Springs, California Just a village street looking West. Driving, pulled over and said, Wow!

Time

About 3pm Blowing wind dust and sand created the quality of an approaching storm.

Lighting

Natures pure lighting...I usually look for natural light for my work. The backlit clouds and blowing palms of the Palm Tree creates more magic.

Equipment

IPhone7+ no flash, just “look” and shoot!

Inspiration

The suddenness of the weather change as I was driving along the street. The wind started creating the darkened dusty sky and the clouds, seldom seen, closing over the San Jacinto mountains, mountains that surround the Coachella Valley, worth pulling over to take a quick shot!

Editing

I usually trust my eye and whatever camera I am using. I shoot manual and love the flexibility so I seldom use any post-processing. I find Procreate or Lightroom cumbersome...Old school! Maybe that is why I seldom recreate anything and probably why I am not famous???? We were trained to use our eyes and knowledge of the camera. There was a slight crop at the top of the photo.
