Location
This photo was taken in my backyard garden, where I occasionally enjoy a visit from squirrels and other wildlife.Time
The weather seemed perfect that November afternoon and the air was crisp and calm.Lighting
It was early afternoon and the sunshine was making the air sparkle and the squirrels fur glistened with a soft glow. One of those rare perfect moments in time.Equipment
This was shot using Canon PowerShot SX530 HS.Inspiration
This image has a special story behind it. My Father (passed away in 2011) would take me to the market when I was a kid, and would always pick the biggest apple he could find for me. He would shine it up with his sleeve until all glossy and beautiful! Dad is gone now, but every November on his birthday, I look for the biggest apple I can find to shine it all up, and take outside to a special memorial spot made for my parents. The squirrels and birds usually get the sweet treat. So that November day I caught this squirrel feasting on the sweet apple, so I took the picture and smiled, knowing Dad would approve.Editing
No post-processing was done except some light cropping. In my camera bag
Among others, my favorites are currently Canon PowerShot SX530 HS and Canon PowerShot SX620 HS.Feedback
Carry your sidekick camera with you everywhere, you never know when it will happen. Take pictures of what speaks to you as a person, not just recording beautiful images. We have stories to tell!
