I captured this black-tailed deer on the hike up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. On the western approach to Hurricane Ridge, there is often rising warmer air which creates fog and cloud drafts, along with rain. This deer was feeding along the side of the trail and had a contented look. I was struck by the colors and textures on the deer's wet fur and antler felt.
