I took this picture in Dreikant's workshop. This is a manufactory that makes tables by hand. Each table top is cut from one piece and thus each table becomes a unique specimen. https://www.dreikant.at/en/Time
It was about 3:00 pm. and the worker was welding the underframe for a new table.Lighting
there is not much to say about the light setting because there wasn't one. As I had enough time and the welding work took a long time I could try different settings until I had the right combination of ISO, time and aperture.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and a EF 35mm 1,4 LInspiration
Actually it was a task I had to do during my photography studies. We had to do a report about craftsmanship. During my research which companies there are in my region are still doing real hand-made work. So I came across the company Dreikant and asked if I could document the creation of a table. This picture is from a series which shows the process from the wood selection to the finished product.Editing
I did the post-processing in the LR. Only the contrasts and the color saturation have been changed. In my camera bag
In my Bag i have a Canon Eos1 X and a Eos 5 mark IV. if it goes dirty sometimes i take the Eos 5 mIII. For the studio, I almost pack just fixed focal lengths For traveling i use zoom lenses. Most of my Lenses are from the professional line. Two canon 600RT Flashes with the canon radio trigger and a carbon tripod I use light as i need, if the distance to the model is big i use a Profoto B1 Kit and for shorter distances a Profoto B10 KitFeedback
Don't be shy, go to the companies in your area. Explain what you want to photograph and why. If you also offer the bosses that they can have one or the other picture, hardly anyone will say no.
