Location
I took this photo on the ranch where I helped deliver this cute little foal. In Nellie Gail Ranch, in Orange County, CATime
If I remember right, I took this photo in the early morning hours, when I was there to feed the horses.Lighting
The lighting was soft and even, I believe it was a bit overcast outside.Equipment
Canon 5diii with a 24-70 2.8 lens.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo - and others in this series - as a gift for the owner of the horse. She is my friend. He was so cute and adorable that day!Editing
Yes, I did my basic lightroom and Photoshop editing and I believe I also used a Topaz labs filter on it!In my camera bag
My bag right now has my Canon 5d iii and iv cameras, my go to lenses - the 24-70, the 70-200 and my 16-35. I also have two flashes that I rarely use and a lensbaby kit. And a tripod.Feedback
The main thing I would consider is having nice even lighting for this effect and using a lens with a very wide aperture - I'm pretty sure this was opened up to 2.8 to give that shallow depth of field.
