Location
The photo was taken in a studio/warehouse in Melbourne, Australia. I am a photographer exploring opportunities and on a continuous photographic journey.Time
This was an exceptional shoot which concluded with stunning results. The shoot took place around midday using naturally filtered window light. It was a light filled room with space and props and different angles to work in. The connection between the model and photographer was exceptional and the chemistry between us flowed with ease. One of the best experiences. This image was taken 0n March 8 2019 at 1.34pm.Lighting
As stated previously, the space/room was lit with natural lighting and the beauty of the window light was the frosted glass which gave a softness to the subject and eliminated any harsh contrast especially around the skin tones.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D750, with a 50mm f1.4 lens.Inspiration
I was looking to capture something intimate, something authentic and something slightly unsure. I wanted to engage the viewer intimately with the subject and achieved this by framing and tight crop to enhance the engagement and focus.Editing
Some post processing was undertaken. Black and white conversion, boosted the contrast and slight skin softening. That was all.In my camera bag
I generally carry Nikon Z6, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.8 and 24-70mm f2.8. This provides me with a flexible range to work with and adapt to circumstances. I endeavor to keep weight of the equipment to a minimum.Feedback
Always be prepared to challenge yourself, learn from mistakes, explore ideas. Try the untried and never be afraid to experiment, with light, composition and color. Engage with the model and communicate frequently during the shoot.
