The view from Vince's Cross, McMurdo Sound starting to freeze over 03-30-2019.
Erected by Robert F. Scott and crew of the Discovery Expedition, the cross is a memorial for George T. Vince. George had a fatal fall into McMurdo Sound and drowned trying to get back to the ship during a blizzard March 1902.

The hut is known as Discovery Hut. Was erected and used for Robert F. Scott's Discovery Expedition 1901-1904. Both Vince's Cross and Discovery Hut are both protected historic sites.
