Taken on Ross Island Antarctica between McMurdo Station and Scott Base Station. The bright lighting bottom right is from Scott Base. The laser and equipment is part of the Department of Energy experiment for Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM). The green laser can be viewed in the dark sky by eye. I tracked for when the Milky Way would be in this position and the Aurora Australis activity was a bonus. Hope you enjoy the image, and please add any thoughts, questions or critiques.
