Behind The Lens

Location

I had purchased a used Volkswagen and found this old colorful umbrella. I opened it up to see if it was still in good condition and the center and colors combined with the sun shining through caught my attention so I took the shot. I'm an amature photographer that enjoys taking pictures of weird and quirky things that grab my eye in hopes that people enjoy the way I see things around me.

Time

It was just after lunch on a beautiful clear day in the spring. The sun was just over my head.

Lighting

The umbrella is very drained of its color. If the picture had been taken of the top view with sun beaming on it, colors would have been drained and boring, having sunlight going through the umbrella made the colors dance to me and I grabbed the shot.

Equipment

Im a single mother on a low budget so I will take pictures with whatever I can. This was taken with my cheap android phone.

Inspiration

When I had opened the umbrella to see if it had any holes ,( looking drained of all it color) I was expecting to see alot of them so I held it up above my head and my eye when straight to the center mechanics and that's when the colors just seem to jump out and dance. It was like it had told me to pull out my phone and take the picture.

Editing

I just took the picture. Then when I went to edit it a little before posting it I realized the original was the best one so I didn't change a thing.

In my camera bag

I am aspiring to accumulate some good equipment in the near future.

Feedback

Sometimes zooming in a bit and focusing on smaller portions of your object can capture more enticing photos
