Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken Little Bay Reservation in Fairhaven, MA.

Time

This shoot took place late morning/ early afternoon.

Lighting

We used the natural light as the main light source but also had a speedlight with an ocotbox as fill light.

Equipment

I shot this with my Canon EOS-1D Mark III, at aperture f/5, ISO 200, Shutter speed 1/250, with my Canon 50 mm lens.

Inspiration

I wanted to capture the fur of the hood framing the face.

Editing

I did some minor adjustments in Lightroom with the shadows and removed the saturation to achieve the black and white.

In my camera bag

If I am working, I always have two bodies on me, my Canon 6d Mark II and my Canon EOS-1D Mark III. I love my 50mm lens, 100mm lens and my Canon 28-135mm . I also have have 1-2 speedlights with me. I love my Think Tank camera bag as well.

Feedback

I would suggest finding spot where the direct sunlight is diffused and using a speed light (also diffused) as a fill light. that will help keep the lighting soft.
