It’s always a challenge looking for new compositions to areas I’ve photographed many times before. During a recent trip at Lake Powell I spotted these little islands far off shore that looked like they could be an interesting foreground to the towering mesas in the distant background. But that would mean somehow I would need to get to them and then be left there for a couple hours with no cell reception to call for help if needed. Basically stranded on a little island a few feet wide and less than a foot above the water level. An eerie feeling for sure. What would to endure to “get the shot”?
