Location
Taken at Chemical beach on a windy morning in Seaham, County Durham at SunriseTime
It was around 5.30 en-route to my camera club meeting. The meeting did not start until 9.00 AM, but I was always one of the early one’s that always arrived an hour earlier. However, on this occasion, I thought I would leave a little earlier to see if I could be lucky enough to catch an early sunrise. It was still dark and very dark and freezing when I set up my camera, and waited patiently for the Sun to gently rise over the horizon.Lighting
I wanted this image to show nature’s shoreline beauty first thing in the morning. Many people rarely get to see these views locally as the sleep in their beds. On this occasion, Mother Nature blessed us with a golden sky.Equipment
Not my usual D850, but my second camera (Nikon D7200) and a tripod. An old Tamron 16-300 lense and myself.Inspiration
Simply the chance to catch an early sunrise on the North East coast, UK and show people that you don’t have to travel far to find beautiful skyscapes.Editing
A few tweaks of in LightroomIn my camera bag
Now I carry Nikon D850, Sigma Art 24-105mm - Sigma Art 85mm - IRIX Blackstone 15 mm - Manfrotto 190 tripod with ball head - Triggers, Off-Camera Flash, ND filter and the usual multiple accessories.Feedback
Take your time, be patient, research your location, plan your shoot, take all your equipment, because the chances are you would have needed it if you left it behind. My motto is, “it’s better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it!” Robert Barnes.
