These prehistoric looking birds hunt fish, small mammals, reptiles snakes, birds, basically everything that fits in that huge beak. The funny thing is that they jump on prey and get beaks full of everything. So after a lunge they often need to discard reeds and other swamp material...they sort of turn their throat in side out for that while yawning..
