Behind The Lens

Location

We were holidaying in Italy in spring...driving towards Caltagirone in the south of Sicily. The scenery was just beautiful...we stopped to take a photo as we so often did and these sheep and a couple of donkeys came up over the hill.. posed perfectly for me.

Time

This photo was taken late in the afternoon on a beautiful spring day.

Lighting

It was a great time of the day.. lovely soft light and without any wind.. I added a little vignette to add a little more interest

Equipment

My camera was a Panasonic DMC-TZ80.. a perfect travel camera.. compact and easy to carry around.

Inspiration

The countryside was spectacular... beautiful rolling green hills which is why we stopped in the first place..the sheep were an added bonus they came up over the hill just at the right time... we suspected that they thought their evening meal had arrived!

Editing

This photo has been cropped, some backlighting then finished off with a little vignette

In my camera bag

I my bag I carry 2 spare batteries, a cloth to wipe my lens and sometimes a tripod depending on where we are going.

Feedback

Italy has so many beautiful scenes like this.. my only advice when photographing any animals is patience.. if you wait long enough the right opportunity will appear.
