So hard to capture birds in flight and do it so crisply and well lit. Congratulations you've done both.

Such vivid detail in the feathers to have captured in mid-flight. The side lighting is a bonus! I really like this quite a bit.

Behind The Lens

Location
Eastern Finland, Kuusamo, Oulanka National Park
Time
In January there not much daytime in Northern Finland, few hours. This was taken in noon.
Lighting
Polar night light is very special, quite cold weather above -30 C make all colours pastel like.
Equipment
Hide of course, Canon 6D and 300mm, tripod.
Inspiration
Polar night inspires, there no light like in middle of freezing winter.
Editing
Raw file needs Lightroom basics. Noise and CA removal, crop, whites and blacks, little Dehaze and sharpening.
In my camera bag
Canon 6D, 7Dmk2, 300mm and 20mm, 1,4 tc , tripod
Feedback
Be patience, wild animals need their space, peace and quiet. When they arrive, do nothing, just watch. After a while you can see, they calm down and you can slowly make some moves and try silent shooting. If you see any being disturbed, just freeze for a while.
