Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken in The Villages, Florida. They have a wonderful display of plantings that change throughout the year.

Time

The photo was taken mid morning after it rained. Slight overcast therefore minimal shadow.

Lighting

I loved the way the raindrops balanced on the petals without harsh lighting. It just seemed freshly washed and ready for the day.

Equipment

I used a Nikon 7200 with the 105mm micro lense. Surprisingly it was handheld with minimal shaking.

Inspiration

I love the delicacy of flowers in general but this one stuck me differently. The way the raindrops laid on the petals and slight glistening of light.

Editing

To be honest, I’m not sure just how much post processing I did but I’m sure I did some. I remember I was impressed how well it turned out and without using a tripod.

In my camera bag

My Nikon 7200 with the 105mm micro and my go-to 28-300mm, 3.5 lenses are standard issue for everyday excursions.

Feedback

I’m a novice but if something captures your eye then it’s worth pursuing. I spent a very long time once watching a wasp feeding in a flower. Just fascinating. It’s what inspires you.
