The sunset view from Interstate 10 of a train trestle and the Maestri bridge spanning Lake Ponchartrain in New Orleans, Louisiana. Opened in 1928, the Maestri bridge was the first bridge constructed over Lake Ponchartrain. Interestingly, after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, this was the only bridge that remained intact enough for traffic to enter New Orleans from the east until the Highway 90-Interstate 10 bridge was repaired.
