Behind The Lens

Location

A small outcrop of Lake Tahoe on Nevada's east shore became the subject on this shot.

Time

As the sun slowly set on a calm early evening, the lighting and reflection created this serene view.

Lighting

Natural light made this scene happen. The timing was right to not pass on the opportunity of a peaceful shot.

Equipment

A Sony DSC HV400 with 24MP, a Zeiss lens, and great 'zoom' capabilities completed the package. No tripod or flash were used.

Inspiration

Always on the lookout for a reflection shot worth sharing with others, with this location the choice was a natural.

Editing

Lightly boosting the saturation and structure assists on compensating my learning curve with the initial shot. A bit of cropping for the final touch.

In my camera bag

The Sony camera with the 50x (600mm?) optical zoom makes it easy for a hobbiest as me. Other than the extra battery that's it...light and easy!

Feedback

Kept an open mind and don't pass on the thought of "that would make a great shot"...turn around if you need to.
