Location
This photo was taken near Swan Valley IdahoTime
This pic was taken about 15 minutes after the sun dropped behind the mountains, it wasn't full sunset yet, but the mountain shadows hid the direct sun earlier.Lighting
This deer was in the shadow of a setting sun so there was a bit of a golden hue, but it was not direct lighting at all...and this was very much a case of take what I could get.Equipment
I believe this was taken on a Canon T3i with a 300 mm 2.8 Sigma lens...but that was 2 cameras ago and I am not 100% certain that I remember right.Inspiration
With wildlife photography you often have to have luck on your side and this was definitely the case here...this was a right time, right place situationEditing
This is pretty much as shot...with a little color/contrast correction is allIn my camera bag
I mainly shoot wildlife and this is what I use. My bag centers around my Canon 5D MKiv, with several go to lenses...the Canon 70-200 f2.8, the Canon 100-400 f4.5-5.6 II and a Tamron 150-600 G2 f5-6.3.Feedback
Keep shooting!
