Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at Rathtrevor Beach on the east coast of Vancouver island

Time

it was taken around 4pm just before sunset on a cold January day here in Western Canada.

Lighting

of course you can get the best lighting just before sunset

Equipment

Tripod, Nikon d7100 and the 24-120 F4 nikkor lens

Inspiration

the open blue sky at sunset and with forest and ocean in the scene

Editing

Lightroom and photoshop for editing. I also use Nik for it's variety of effects.

In my camera bag

Nikon equipment.

Feedback

Tripod is the only way to take photographs just before sunset in order to get a small size aperture of F11 or higher for good Dept of field. Cold fingers is the big worry so a warm pair of gloves that can come off and on quickly. Another thing is a warm hat or toque to keep the heat from escaping from the top of your head. Cold on Vancouver island in January.
