Location
I took this image at the Garfield Conservatory in Chicago, ILTime
This image was taken approximately 9:35am CSTLighting
No flash was used, just the natural lighting within the greenhouse.Equipment
This image was taken with a Panasonic DMC-GX-7 with a Minolta 100mm F/4 Macro MD Mount Manual Focus Lens attached to a Minolta Bellows III. The camera and lens was on a tripod. I used the aperture priority setting on the GX-7. Images were taken a 1/4 of a second, iso 125 and f/8.Inspiration
I was competing in a Panachallenge contest based on the word "chlorophyll".Editing
RAW files converted with Adobe RAW. Decreased shadows, decreased highlights, increased contrast; curves; filter-unsharp mask. Used same settings for 5 images that only differed in focus. Loaded 5 files into stack and aligned layers; auto-blend the layers to yield the single photograph. In my camera bag
I usually have a Panasonic DMC GX-8, a Lumix 7-14mm; Lumix 35-100 mm f2.8; and a Lumix 15-45mm lenses. Extra battery, lens cloth, and SD card are also in my bag.Feedback
I find that focus stacking is almost essential when using the macro set-up that I described above.
