I took this photo in some woods in Scotland. It was one of the reasons why I wanted to get a macro lens. To be able to get close up detail really excites me. This photo is why!Time
It was around 4pm in the day. October. I’d just gotten of work, got home picked up my camera and headed back out for some ‘me time’ in the wild. It was even more beautiful as it had only recently stopped raining and the low hanging sun was streaming through the trees sparkling off all the water droplets caught on branches not yet fallen to the ground.Lighting
I loved how the natural light twinkled reflecting off the wet plants and spider webs all around, making the area feel very magical.Equipment
My canon 1000D with the 18-55mm lens. That’s it.Inspiration
I wanted to try and capture this other worldly feeling when had going on. I love how you can see nearby trees mirrored upside down in the droplet, and how the light just caught the edge of the water. To me it feels magical and autumnal, cold and exciting all at the same time.Editing
Yes I sharpened the image slightly to help bring out the suns rays more and tweaked the highlights a little to help bring out more of the neutral colours. In my camera bag
My canon 1000D my 18-55mm lens and my 60mm lens.Feedback
Look for different angles. If you find a subject matter you like take multiple photos from as many different angles as possible...that way you might see something you didn’t before, or wouldn’t have if taking a head on shot.
