Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Mint Room Studios in Toronto.

Time

This was taken during the afternoon, but that had little effect on the photo itself.

Lighting

The room was dark and I wanted to contrast that with the brighter yukata. I wanted to keep the lighting soft and intimate.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D750. For lighting, I used a Godox AD200 with a 37" soft box.

Inspiration

I love to showcase traditional ethnic wear. I'm a big promoter of normalizing wearing traditional fashion pieces in a modern way. Culture is cool.

Editing

I made some tone and colour adjustments in light room, and did some blemish removal in photo shop.

In my camera bag

My Nikon D750, Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8, Nikkor Micro 85mm f/1.8

Feedback

Use a big soft light source and don't over-do the flash power.
