This photo was taken at a barber shop along Arab street in Singapore.Time
I remembered it was quite before noon, less crowd hours which is easier for me to conduct the photoshoot.Lighting
I used one flash with a softbox off camera to recreate this scene and to bring the subject separated from the background, it’s leaning towards a harsh lighting to bring out the details of this chef barber, especially his long beard.Equipment
I handheld a Canon 6D camera with a 50mm lens and a profoto b1 air with a softbox on a lightstand.Inspiration
I had a nice haircut at this barber shop named gentleman society and the chef barber has such characters that I’m tempted to take photos of him, with his permission, i came back with my equipments to get some really nice photos of him.Editing

Make use of the natural light but not fully , control the environment light to restrain some details, use the off camera flash to pop out the subject with details and the mood.
