Typically I use wide angle lens for my night sky images to avoid star trails, but this image was shot across the water and I wanted to capture both the camper with their campfire and the night sky. A wide angle lens would have lost the camper in the vastness of the image. Although to the eye the skies were very dark and you could clearly make out the Milky Way overhead, there was still quite a bit of light pollution on the horizon. Seeing this image makes me want to go camping again. I'm ready to make smores and tell tales around the light of the fire. How about you?
