Great photo. Love Hibiscus.

Behind The Lens

Location
On my backyard patio, a tiny patio at that.
Time
Right at sunset when it was closing up.
Lighting
Natural light, late afternoon shade.
Equipment
Sony a6000 camera, Sigma 105mm macro lens.
Inspiration
It didn't look like a flower; it looked like an alien
Editing
Black and white conversion with Silver Efex Pro II, a contrast adjustment, and some spot removal.
In my camera bag
Sony a6000, Sigma 56mm f1.4, Sigma 16mm f1.4, Sigma 105mm f2.8 HSM Macro, Sirui tripod and head, Flashpoint Lion flash, Flashpoint Streaklight 360, and a gaggle of light modifiers with wireless triggers.
Feedback
It was just a snap that turned out to be something special IMHO. No plan, no intention, just set the cam on the tripod and shot. Of course, if I tried to reproduce the shot, it would be a lesson in frustration.
